Lush Lacquer Princess Poodle

Its called Princess Poodle? I don't even need to see what colour it is, MUST have it! Those who have been following me for a while know that I have 2 gorgeous fluffy children, one who is a poodle. I've had poodles all my life and they are such amazingly smart dogs, not to mention cute as a button! OK, I'll stop going on about my babies so you can go look at this unique polish from Lush Lacquer. 

Princess Poodle is an off white jelly with pink, black and grey glitters. The glitter is a mix of hexagons, bars and micro dots. There are larger pink hexagons in the mix too. The formula is great, not too thick and no fishing for glitter, but I did have to spread the glitter around on my nail by dabbing the brush in empty spots. I also had to spread one or two clumps where lots of glitter had piled together but it was really easy to move around because the suspension base did not dry too quickly. This is one coat over an off white creme, OPI - My Vampire Is Buff. I tried 2 coats of Princess Poodle on its own and it was just too much, it looked crowded on the nail.

        

To create the V shape I used striping tape. The grey is China Glaze - Recycle and the pink was an unexpected winner from BYS. Its called Pink Panic and it really came to life with top coat, its a gorgeous colour with a great formula. I feel like BYS is picking up its act lately, when I first started collecting polish when I was a teenager BYS was all I could really afford and I remember it being crappy and chipping and staining my nails. Recently I have bought a few things from their new collections and I have loved every one...great news for Aussies! Valentines Day - Round 2

Only 8 days left to find your knight in shining armour to whisk you away to your happily ever after.....in the meantime I hope you enjoy the 2nd of my Valentines Day manicures. This one is a little more traditional with pink and hearts a plenty.

The pink is Barry M - Strawberry Ice cream. The black is China Glaze - Liquid Leather. 

On my thumb I used Daring Digits - Blackberry Square which is quickly becoming my most loved indie. I'm a sucker for anything black and white and its got squares in it....oh yeah. For my pinkie I used silver metal studs. It was so hard to get a good picture of them, they are super shiny and amazing and I will be using them again very soon. You can get the studs here. The little heart is this gorgeous stick on black opal mini gem. Its a black holographic colour and I cant stop staring at it! They come in a set with 9 other colours and you can get them here. 

The hearts on my index and middle fingers were stamped. Index was MLS-05 plate and the hearts in a row were created by Natalie from NailCraze NC 01. I think I totally fluked getting them in the middle of my nail. The plate stamped beautifully and I cant wait to try the butterfly prints and the feather.

Valentines Day - Round 1

So its almost that time of year again. Some may say its commercial or sappy, but like every girl on the planet when February 14th rolls around, we all want to be the one who gets flowers delivered to their work....am I right? Whilst that's very unlikely to happen to me, I'm lucky that I have a husband who showers me with love everyday of the year and for that I'm very thankful. Love you Frankie Baby...smooches!

On my thumb I stamped with CG Pool Party using BM-303. It changed colour a little and went a more mellow pink. On my ring finger I stamped with Konad White and BM-303. The BM 300 series is available here. On my pinkie I used white striping tape to create the lines, the coral polish underneath sort of showed through the white tape making it look like a lighter pink, but its actually just white tape.

So I hope this first VD Mani finds you with someone to smooch.

Gloss 'n' Sparkle - Berry Delicious

Berry Delicious indeed. Its like Barbie vomited on my nails and I LOVE her for it. Another unique and gorgeous indie polish from Australian polish maker Gloss 'n' Sparkle. Its a pink creamy base with small red, blue and purple hex glitters.

The formula for this polish was truly excellent. Glitters can be notoriously hard to paint with but I just applied this as I would a normal polish. This is two coats with topcoat. I didn't have to move the glitter flecks around, this is exactly how they came out of the bottle and they are pretty evenly spaced around. I used Seche Vite as my topcoat and it did ripple the finish just a little so next time I would probably use a different topcoat to be on the safe side.
