Whats new at Resinail

Today I've got some new polishes from Resinail to show you. Michelle very kindly sent me 3 colours to try but a gorgeous pale pink decided to explode in transit. Luckily there was lots to like with the 2 polishes that made it.

This is Resinail - Grape Shimmer. A glittery mulberry/grape and gold polish that's seductive and chic. It was really hard to capture its beauty as its colour shifts into some beautiful combos of purple, pink, red and gold.

I got so many compliments on this colour. For this design I used Resinail Grape Shimmer as the base, Mundo de Unas stamping polish (gold) and the new Pueen 24B-L Buffet Leisure stamping plates (plate 77) which are available here. Gold flakes are Zoya - Gilty and Gold Satin is OPI - Love.Angel.Music.Baby.

This is Resinail Xmas 2014 LE - Holo bar glitter, green jelly polish. The base is a sheer tinted green. This pic is Xmas layered over OPI - Jade is the new black. I would definitely recommend undies for this one. The polish is packed with bar glitter, only a very thin coat is needed.

Xmas was just begging for some Christmas art so I made some decals using the Bundle Monster - Holiday collection which is available here. I really loved how these turned out, Im feeling really good about making decals these days.

Michelle has released lots of other gorgeous sparkly Resinail polishes which you can check out at her store HERE.

Resinail - new Aussie indie

New to the market, the first release polishes from new Aussie indie Resinail cater for a range of polish lovers; there's holos, thermals, glitter toppers and more, a little something for everyone!  Thank you Michelle for sending 3 fab polishes my way. Let's take a closer look.

The first polish I tried was this silver linear holo. Resinail - Fizzy Water. 4 coats direct sunlight.  Gorgeous sparkle but its very sheer so you need a few coats but look how beautiful it is! This would work well with silver undies. Its very comparable to a spectraflair topcoat. Rainbows! Rainbows! Rainbows!

Fizzy Water - 4 coats indoors with flash. I wish this polish was just a bit more opaque but then again you can wear it over lots of different colours so that's a bonus. The formula was consistent across the 3 polishes and the 5 free suspension base is great quality. The brush in the full size bottle was a good size and the polishes applied well. I also really like Michelle's bottle labels, I love that you can see the polish through the "R", its funky! Now onto my absolute fav.

Ooooh dreamy! Fuchsia Fade (thermal) - 2 coats direct sunlight. Eeeee! Devine! This is a pic of the polish in transition from warm to cool on the tips. The cool colour is a bright cerise pink shimmer. In warm phase its a light musk pink shimmer. And I'm not a massive thermal polish person, but I really, really like this. For me this is the state the polish stayed in most often.

Fuchsia Fade (thermal) - 2 coats indoors with flash. This polish underwhelms in the bottle, its looks like a dirty pink shimmer but when you put it on your nails...BAM! It's so girly! Lets see what it looks like in cool state now.

Fuchsia Fade (thermal) - 2 coats direct sunlight. Cool colour state. Living in QLD I had to put my nails under the tap to get the polish to change to this colour fully. It's a dreamy barbie pink. Makes washing your hands just a bit too much fun!

Fuchsia Fade (thermal) - 2 coats indoors with flash. Cool colour. You can see on my pinkie where its starting to transition again near the cuticle. Its cause I'm so hawt! :P Now to the glitter topper.

Resinail - Tropical Treat, a silver and lime green scattered holo glitter topper in a clear base. It's a beautiful colour of green glitter and the holo sparkle is beautiful. This polish is again quite sheer. I tried it on its own and it definitely needs undies. I used China Glaze - I'm with the lifeguard which is a neon green jelly. I then put 3 coats of the glitter topper on to get coverage I was happy with. The glitter spreads nice and evenly.

Look at that sparkle! Tropical Treat - Direct sunlight

Michelle has released lots of other gorgeous sparkly Resinail polishes which you can check out at her store HERE.  Best of luck Michelle, can't wait to see what's next for Resinail. If I get a vote more thermals please :)

Hollish Nails - The glassfleck shimmer collection

The Aussie indie polish scene...its just so hot right now! The quality and variety of polishes coming out for us polish crazies to lust over....my poor wallet slinks off to hide in the corner begging for a timeout! Do NOT read the rest of the post if you are on a no buy because there is NO WAY you are going to be able to resist these polishes from up and coming Aussie indie brand Hollish Nails. The Glassfleck shimmer collection...a million tiny, shattered glittery flecks in delicious juicy satin shimmer bases.

Holly very kindly sent me 6 polishes from her new release. There are 12 glassfleck shimmer polishes in the collection which will be released on February 28th via Hollish's Etsy shop. The six I have are the more muted colours. If these are the muted ones I can't wait to see the others....drool! These polishes will be added to Hollish Nails core collection.

The first polish is Pinky Finger: A Bubblegum pink which leans slightly towards raspberry with a pale pink glassfleck shimmer which reflects silvery sparks. OMG love this polish! I have a few pink shimmer polishes which all throw gold sparks. Finally a silver shift. I've been searching for you a long time Pinky Finger.

Pink Finger - 3 coats - full sunlight with Seche topcoat.

don't have any glassfleck glitter polishes in my collection because I have always shied away from glitter flecks. Seriously I have been missing out! The combo of glitter pieces with the similar base pigment colour create a faux texture/satin look when dry which is really interesting. All polishes have 3 coats, each coat dried quickly and applied perfectly, no glitter dabbing was needed, applied like a creme and no pulling when topcoat was added.

Pinky Finger with matte top coat. The matte really shows off the satin finish of these polishes. They feel smooth like a creme yet have the depth of a texture. Cool! There was a tiny bit of VNL after 3 coats which only showed up in the pics, not on the nail. It is just so pretty in real life that I didn't care one bit!

Holly you had me at Pinky Finger, and then I tried I Lilac You. Hollish Nails....well done *slow clap* well done babe. I Lilac You: A bright lilac with silvery lavender glassfleck shimmer which reflects silver sparks. Again the silver spark is a massive win for me. The combo of the darker purple glitter pigment base, with a light purple glitter shimmer, it's truly perfection.

I Lilac You - 3 coats - full sunlight with Seche topcoat.

Urg! Too much awesome! Matte topcoat satin glitter where have you been all my life? Make room for I Lilac You in your Helmer draws ladies because YOU NEED IT in your life.

Seriously Holly.....stop! I can't take much more! Teal, one of those colours that occupy a larger than normal percentage of space in my polish collection. Unfortunately teal is notorious for staining but our prayers have been answered, the perfect teal shimmer is here! I'm Kind of a Big Teal: A vibrant teal with blueish-teal glassfleck shimmer.

I'm kind of a big teal - 3 coats - full sunlight with Seche topcoat.

Oh the possibilities. I need to stamp over this like yesterday! Mattified - I'm kind of a big teal. Wow, epically amazing! Hands down my absolute fav of the bunch, glorious!

The fourth polish I tried is It's in my Jeans: A denim blue with slightly brighter blue glassfleck shimmer. Move over every other blue polish I own, this polish just out glam'd you! So glamorous, so sparkly, the most amazing vibrant nautical blue.

It's in my jeans - 3 coats - full sunlight with Seche topcoat

With matte top coat its a whole different obsession! A bonus with the formula that Hollish is using for these polishes is that it's a lot easier to remove then a glitter topper, glitter bomb or texture polish.

So onto the darker blue, Shiny Happy Purple: A navy-based purple (or blurple) with deep purple glassfleck shimmer. Now this polish is described as blurple, on the nail I found it leans towards royal blue. In the bottle its blurple all the way baby, despite the fact that it appears blue in these pictures. It's gorgeous either way.

Shiny happy purple - 3 coats - full sunlight with Seche topcoat.

Pow! I love the way these polishes mattify to a satin finish. So cool.

"All Hollish polishes are hand made in small batches in Adelaide, South Australia, and tested for a minimum of eight weeks (on party animals, not bunnies!) to ensure that they stay as beautiful as the day the were made. All products are 5-free." Hollish.

The final polish is I Zinc I Can: A black with shiny gunmetal grey glassfleck shimmer. It's goth gone glam. Leans toward charcoal with a black shift.

I zinc I can - 3 coats - full sunlight with Seche topcoat. I can't wait for the release of this collection so that I can see the other 6 polishes. I'm sure they will be equally stunning. I've already got a few polishes in my cart from the old collections, Murder on the dancefloor......you will be mine!

It looked like bitumen mattified.  I preferred the sparkle with this one but the matte version shows off the satin finish. You can find ALL the Hollish Nails polish here at Holly's Etsy shop and don't forget to go and like Holly's facebook page here so that you can stay up to date with new releases.

The formula and ingredients of these polishes are really high quality.  Do not let the hand written labels fool you (I believe there is some fancy new branding on the horizon). They are all round, top notch; good bottle size, good brush, great pigments, great blending, great suspension base, quality glitter...there is nothing not to like. Thank you so much Holly for sending them my way, they are prized possessions which will be popping up in lots of nail art in the future. Hollish Nails, go check it out already!

Gloss 'n Sparkle - perfection!

Long time no see! This time of year is super crazy for me. I have to pack up my classroom and move schools again so there hasn't been much time for nails. The flip side is that in 2 days I am on holidays for a month so I promise to whip up some new nail art for you guys and give my blog some TLC.

Today I wanted to share a few swatches of some new Gloss n Sparkle shades that were very kindly given to me to try. Being a die-hard GNS fan girl already, of course there was jumping, squealing and maybe even a little peeing when they arrived in the mail. So without further adieu here are 3 new GNS polishes to drool over.

This is Can't Even breathe. My absolute fav of the bunch. Its a dusty lilac/purple jelly base with a mix of bronze, blue, and magenta hexagons with black, bronze and pink microdots. This is 2 coats with topcoat in sunlight.

If you have been living under a polish rock for the last few years Gloss "n Sparkle is Australian made, hand mixed indie polish. The polishes are 3 free, come in beautiful holo bottles and are super high quality. Many of my clients ask me "Are Aussie indie polishes as good as the big brands?" - to this I would answer no...they are much, much better!

The second polish is Damsel in a Dress. A bubblegum pink jelly base with pink, purple and icey white hexagons. There are some pink microdots and larger dots in the mix too. GNS polishes have a very forgiving formula. You don't need to fish for glitter, the base is not too thick, just runny enough to get the floaty jelly finish. Dreamy!

The final polish is The Lotus Eater. A vibrant blue jelly with magenta, aqua and blue hexes, dark blue and aqua microdots and aqua squares. This is 2 coats with topcoat in sunlight. Stay tuned for some more GNS swatches later in the week.

Please go and check out Gloss 'n Sparkle, but prepare for your wallet to take at beating as you try your hardest not to go crazy....good luck with that! Need all the GNS!

Zoya Pixie Dust Summer 2013 Collection

Gasp! Stunning sparkly, matte glitters in bright, juicy colours. Its the Zoya Pixie Dust Summer 2013 collection. The first whole collection I have been excited about in a long time and I'm so glad I snapped them all up. Enough talking, lets go look at the pictures!

Zoya - Liberty is a rich blue colour with blue glitter "dust". Its my second favourite colour in the collection as its vibrant and the blue is a really nice hue.

The formula of all the polishes in this collection is awesome. They apply beautifully, no bald spots or brush dabbing required, just paint on like a creme. Zoya recommends letting the polish really dry between each layer to get the most out of the sparkly matte finish. I left it about 2 minutes between each coat. The textured finish really is something special.

Zoya - Solange is a bright yellow gold polish with platinum and gold glitter "dust".

The wear on the Pixie Dust polishes is amazing. Considering you don't use base or top coat, you will get at least 3 days chip free. I started to get tip wear on the third day and by the fifth day there was a few chips on the corners of my nails.

Zoya - Miranda is a mulberry pink polish with pink glitter "dust". This polish was a little more "juicy" than the rest in that it didn't dry as matte as the others but it was still super glittery.

Clean up can be a little tricky with texture polishes so its best to try not to flood your cuticles. In all the pictures I have used 2 coats of polish and the pictures were all taken in direct sunlight.

Zoya - Beatrix is a light orange polish with gold glitter "dust". Not a colour I would normally wear but its so juicy and delicious, like a sugary orange gem lolly.

Now brace yourself for my absolute favorite of the collection.

Zoya - Stevie is a beautiful muted lilac polish with silver glitter "dust". Its so girly and I really like it with my skin tone. This polish will be making many appearances in upcoming nail art, its one of my all time top 5 polishes. I know, that's a big call but its really gorgeous!

The entire Pixie Dust Summer 2013 collection is available now from Drama Queen Nails.

The last polish is Zoya - Destiny. A bright coral grapefruit colour with gold glitter "dust".

If you don't own any texture polish this would be a fab set to start with. They are superior to the Liquid Sands in that they are thinner, finer, they dry quicker and are much more sparkly. I cant wait to experiment with them in my nail art, I have high hopes for some wicked pixie gradients!
