Pandemonium

How's this for a mix....its pandemonium! I mixed textures with stamping and an indie glitter to create a panda kitchensink mani. I think the combo works well, I mean come on, who doesn't love pandas?

The colours I used in this mani:
  • Picture Polish - Jade (middle finger)
  • BC - Shade 22 (Jade green)
  • OPI - Solitaire - Liquid Sand
  • Daring Digits - Blackberry Square (black and white glitter)
  • Konad Special Polish in green
  • Konad Special Polish in black

The panda image is from The Winstonia collection, plate 115. The bamboo is from Konad m66, a great Japanese themed plate.

So the verdict on liquid sand polish? The texture is interesting, it feels exactly like sand mixed with glue. The glitter flecks throughout is what takes them to the next level and helps to add dimension to what could otherwise be just a gimmicky effect. The bottle says not to wear topcoat with the liquid sand as it flattens the texture, however as I stamped over it I added a layer of Seche Vite and the texture was effected a little but still retained that bumpy feel.

Well hello there little panda, aren't you a cutie.

Monochrome Madness meets Dashica stamping

Black, white and grey, a classic combo that never goes out of style. And with Valentines Day just around the corner, I suppose it's time to start hiding a few hearts here and there. Got to LOVE the kitchen sink mani, solves the problem of never being able to decide what to do. Do everything!

The grey is China Glaze Recycle with China Glaze White on White. The black is OPI Black, I have no idea what its called the sticker fell off ages ago. I stamped with Barry M Silver Foil and used plate Dash8 from the Dashica 20 piece stamping collection. The glitter is an indie polish from All That Glitters called Space Rock.

Here is the set in its entirety and it comes in this amazing little storage purse...cute! You can get the set from here.

The plates are super high quality and stamp exceptionally well and when you think of the cost of individual Konad stamping plates they are great value.

Everything but the kitchen sink

So a trend that is becoming really popular in DIY nail art is the next step up from the ring finger accent nail. Consider all your nails as accent fingers and you've got yourself a kitchen sink mani. Do something different on each finger but tie it all together with colours or shapes somehow. This is my version.

  • Pointer finger is a reverse gradient with China Glaze Recycle and China Glaze Some Like it Haute (glitter)
  • Thumb and middle finger is China Glaze Recycle stamped with BM 314 and Kleancolours Metallic Black, which works awesomely for stamping and has a slight glitter to it in the sun.
  • Ring finger is China Glaze Some Like it Haute 3 coats no undies.
  • Pinkie finger is Recycle and Metallic Black. I did the gradient using this method.
Any excuse to go crazy and do a bunch of different stuff in one go suits me perfectly, I love this mani and will definitely be doing kitchen sinkers lol in the future.
